O'Reilly, Nazis, Slander, Libel, and Kos
Fri Jul 27, 2007 at 02:09:00 PM PDT
Didn't Bill O'Reilly engage in slander or libel when he compared Daily Kos members to Nazi's and KKK members?
When Will the Limbaugh Era End?
Fri Nov 10, 2006 at 11:17:17 AM PDT
So when does the Rush Limbaugh Era of Republicanism end?
When does the hate and division stop?
It's been forever since I used my Kos diary (been here since before the 2002 elections), but I figured I'd cross-post this entry from my blog
Klein Rant: A New Congress, A New Era, because then maybe someone will read it. :-)
HELP -- Creators Op-ed Bais
Sun Oct 10, 2004 at 10:44:59 PM PDT
Does anyone have a link, or title/author/publication, for an article I read some months (years?) ago.
It was about the bias to the right among the op-ed writers of Creators Syndicate.
Memogate: We Lost our Way
Sun Sep 12, 2004 at 03:24:31 PM PDT
It seems to me we have lost sight of something rather obvious with regard to the Bush TANG memos dispute. It is simple:
If you have not held the original memos that CBS has, your opinion is quite irrelevant.

Alexandra Polier has written a fascinating piece on her 'affair' with Senator Kerry.
GW1 vs GW2: Troop Numbers
Thu Apr 15, 2004 at 10:39:34 AM PDT
This is a short and simple diary.
It occurred to me that I did not know how many troops we deployed in Gulf War I. In Gulf War II we have 130,000. Our mission, while against a weaker enemy, is far broader: occupy Iraq and construct a stable, democratic nation.
The mission of GW1 was to kick Iraq out of Kuwait, a much smaller geographic area.
There have been repeated claims of a troop shortage in Iraq today. So, in the less expansive mission of Gulf War I, how many troops did we have?
Answer:
Gulf War I: 490,000 US; 210,000 Coalition
Gulf War II: ~130,000 US; ~20,000 Coalition
sSource (for GWI numbers. GWII from memory)
Saddam's army was undoubtedly stronger in 1991. Nonetheless, the difference between our commitment now and then is rather amazing.
An Odd Endorsement
Mon Dec 15, 2003 at 06:41:55 AM PDT
I was talking to my mom today, as she stopped by my house. We touched briefly on politics.
Mother generally says things like 'politics is stupid,' 'I don't trust politicians,' 'I don't like to vote.' etc.
She is rather apolitical.
So much to my surpise, as we are having a normal conversation, talking about Saddam being captured, she says:
'You know who I like for president next year?'
'Who?' I ask, thinking she might say Clark. I am also thinking that if she says Bush I am going to smack her.
'Howard Dean. I like him. I've seen him talk, and I really like him.'
I was very surprised. My mom is quite independent and apolitical, and this early in the season she likes Dean. Maybe there is a chance next year ...

The Great Unplug
Sat Oct 18, 2003 at 08:38:21 PM PDT
It is with great sadness that I make what will be my last online expression for a while. My wife and I are moving, and we will be in between houses for a week. We will have no net connection, not even a phone line. Ahhh!
On the upside, I might actually get work done over the next couple of weeks.

The Rules of the Diary Game

What are they? Is anything fair game? I assume general common sense guidelines apply.
